Stu Watts chats with Jack Arentz, who is a prolific songwriter, producer and mix engineer, and co-owner of Joyluck Studio in Thornbury, Melbourne.
Recent years have seen Jack cut his teeth working with artists such as Golden Features, The Presets, LucianBlomkamp and Cam Bluff, while lending his services as a songwriter, mix engineer and producer to acts such as I Know Leopard, Congrats and Mild Minds.
Signed to major music publisher Warner/Chappell and electronic dance label TMRW Music, Jack's studio credits also include releases for Ivy League, Warner, Sony, Counter Records, Remote Control and more.
His work has received rotation across triple j, Double j and triple j Unearthed, been shortlisted twice as a finalist in the Vanda and Young songwriting competition, and nominated for an AIR award.
2018 - 2021 saw the eclectic producer bring his music to the stage, performing live with Kult Kyss supporting the Presets on their national HI VIZ tour, showcasing at BIGSOUND, performing on ABC TV’s show ‘The Set’, as well as EMC Live and Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
Jack's work also extends to film and TV, with his recent creation of the original theme music and motifs for ABC TV's show 'Art Works'.
Specializing in mixing, songwriting, music production and artist mentoring, Jack brings a wealth of experience and attention to detail to every project, working directly with artists to achieve their vision.
